My mother in law has moved to a nursing home and recently her children and spouses (including me) came together to get her previous home ready for sale. This woman is one organized little lady and neat as a pin. But despite that there were massive amounts of “things” in her house to go through. We hired an auction house to sell off the personal possessions she did not want or have room for at the nursing home. As we went from room to room we tried to give her the option of what to donate, put up for auction or move to her new residence.
So what did we come across? There were multiples of cleaning supplies, 4 sets of cutlery, tons of glassware, tupperware, books, furniture and so many other items. Yet when she selected the most important to move she took very little relative to what she has. And when she offered her items to us, there were few takers. Not that it wasn’t quality stuff but most of us already have what we need. Continue reading →

Well guys, I am sitting here at my computer sipping a cup of hot coffee and getting ready to work on another project. The scene from my window is surreal – more snow on top of snow and ice we already have. It started last night and we are expecting it to continue all day with eighteen (give or take inches) expected. I love working from home but it is times like these that make me extra happy.
The view from my porch window…
and from my front door…
And there are a ton of other reasons I love working from home. Here are some of them… Continue reading →
I finally broke down and bought a smart phone. And now I am wondering what I ever did without it! The smart phone has really helped me work smarter not harder. Since I work at home and tend so shop and stay in the area, in the past, I could never justify the expense of a smart phone. After all I pretty much just needed a phone for emergencies and the occasional phone call.
But I was discovering more and more apps for the smart phone that could save me a lot of time and even money. Plus the old phone was hard to text on so I never texted (gasp). In short despite having 20 some websites, I was in the stone age when it came to my cellular device. Mainly I did not realize how a smart phone was not a phone but more of a personal computer in your pocket.
So I took the plunge. I picked up a beautiful gold, IPhone 5S, like this one pictured, using my upgrade and a gift card along with a little cash. Continue reading →
Wouldn’t it be great if someone were to knock on your door within the next couple of hours and hand you cash? And wouldn’t it be fantastic if someone would help you clear your clutter by hauling away goods you no longer need or want? Well make it happen! My new book Craigslist Cash: How To Sell On Craigslist and Make Money Fast! (Quick Cash Guide) will show you how you can earn CASH on Craigslist with things you no longer want and clean house at the same time.
Tidbit – The most expensive item I have sold on Craigslist was my mother-in-law’s house which went for over $100,000. The least expensive was a $5.00 add on item, a small figurine. Offering other items to people who are picking something else up is a great way to boost income from Craigslist.
I recently watched a marathon of episodes of TLC’s Extreme Couponing. If you have never watched the show, it shows “extreme couponers” clipping, saving and shopping to save money on groceries and other items. The savings were so amazing they had me reaching for my scissors and store circular. You can catch episodes on TLC or download from Amazon here; Extreme Couponing
During the course of the show these obsessed save-a-holics spent hours preparing for their grocery shop. They clipped coupons, matched to store circulars, researched buys online and more. Then they sweated it out at the cash register making sure all the coupons were counted. They realized savings of hundreds of dollars and in some cases the stores even paid them to take the items home! A few of them did some things I am not willing to do: Continue reading →

I just hit the publish button on another Kindle eBook EBook Publishing: Sell More EBooks With Action Spreadsheets! (Kindle Publishing). It really feels good to write a book and get paid for it again and again. Not only do I get to express my creativity but I continue to build my eBook business which should pay out for many years to come. And hopefully I have helped others by providing value with my books.
Surprisingly becoming a published author is easier than most people realize. In the past, to get a book on the market you either had to kill yourself finding a publisher or you had to pay big bucks to a vanity press and self publish. Continue reading →
